CIVIL SUPERINTENDENT (TRAVELING)

Job Type: Full-time 
Salary: $110K/yr+ DOE
Certification: OSHA 30 card (Required) 
Work authorization: United States (Required) 

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities 

  • Initial Project is in Mesquite, NV. 

  • Strong background in underground utility work. (3+ years as civil superintendent preferred). 

  • Directly oversees job site personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work schedules, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.

  • Works with Project Manager in the development and refinement of the project schedule, to keep the schedules properly updated, and see that the job meets the completion date.

  • Requests procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specific times to conform to work schedules.

  • Studies plans and specifications to plan procedures for construction to ensure completion of project on schedule.

  • Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.

  • Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated on reports.

  • Completes Daily Field Production Reports on a daily basis.

  • Ensures company employees and subcontractors are adhering to the company safety policy.

  • Responsible for the safety of all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe execution of all activities, including the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs.

  • Monitor project labor, materials, subcontractors and equipment as work progresses and take necessary actions to ensure project schedules are being met. 

  • Has accountability for schedule input and adherence, cost, quality, and project profitability

  • Support positive relationships with clients, designers, and consultants.

  • Prepare and submit daily reports documenting jobsite progress and conditions for payment purposes.

  • Attend and participate in project meetings.

  • Fully understand project equipment and materials.

  • Coordinate assigned work with different crafts, subcontractors and inspection staff.

 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years civil construction experience working in the capacity of Superintendent

  • Ability to travel. 

  • Dependable. 

  • OSHA 30 card. 

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

  • Writes clearly and informatively.

  • Manages difficult customer situations.

  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listens and gets clarification, and responds well to questions.

  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED OSHA 30 is a plus.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and other basic computer skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others.

  • Required to have a valid Driver's License.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to obtain Nevada Air Quality Certification (Approx 1 hour course)

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Function effectively within a team unit.

  • Understanding of construction documents and drawings.

  • Capable of leading and managing craft and non-craft employees.
